A water bottle spilled in the water of a Milan stadium during an EPL match, prompting the team to take action to prevent it from falling into the sea.
The Milanese won 2-0 on Wednesday evening, despite being outplayed for the majority of the match by a resurgent Liverpool.
However, the bottle was recovered by an official shortly before kick-off and is being stored at a nearby hospital.
It was not immediately clear if the bottle had been tampered with.
The incident occurred after a water bottle had landed in the sea during the second half of Milan’s 1-0 win over the Reds, after a collision between Milan’s defenders and Liverpool’s left-back.
The Italian FA is investigating the incident and Milan are currently considering legal action against the culprits.
