I’m a 24-year-old living in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, and I’ve been drinking the same thing I’ve always done: I’ve ordered water.
But I haven’t done it for days, weeks, months, or even years.
So I wanted to know what it would feel like if you were drinking water for the first time.
So we went to a lab to see how it would affect my gut microbiome.
We found that drinking water made it much harder for my gut to digest food and I had a very poor appetite for days after.
But even after drinking for months, my appetite returned to normal, which is not necessarily good news for a human being.
